The sixth generation Intel processors will be unveiled at the CES 2015 technology event and be used in Intel NUC5 mini PCs (nettops). It will feature support for the M.2 solid state drive format, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, NFC and wireless charging support.
The Intel NUC5 will be manufactured using 14 nm technology which means even less heat generation and better battery life. There will be new Core i3 and i5 processors for the NUC5 units. The smaller model will packs a small M.2 SSD along with wireless chip inside. Other features include Bluetooth 4.0, USB 3.0 ports, HDMI 1.4a, DisplayPort 1.2 and Gigabit Ethernet and an IR sensor.
The large one packs the same features but will be able to accommodate a larger 2.5 inch hard disk with SATA connection.
Intel will be making the NUC5 platform official at the consumer electronic show event slated to take place in Las Vegas, NV. It will be help in January 2015.
