Medion has churned out some excellent tablets in the past one year, but today we will be having a look at the Akoya P2212T, a laptop that packs an excellent 11.6 inch IPS display featuring full HD resolution and sleek design. The Akoya P2212T retails at EUR 399 and has better configurations than the Atom powered Asus Transformer Book T100.
Performance-wise, the Medion Akoya P2212T blows away the T100’s Atom processor as it is powered by Intel Celeron N2910 quad core 1.6 GHz processor. You can also store more on it as it has 500GB hard disk vs eMMC flash storage on the T100. That said, the eMMC makes it more durable and slightly faster in opening apps. Boot times and wake up times are also faster on T100, but when it comes to heavy CPU processing, Akoya P2212T is much faster.
When the Medion tablet is used in laptop mode, the total weight is 1.7 kilograms. The keyboard docks adds two USB 2.0 ports in addition to the tablet’s two USB ports (one USB 3.0), a micro HDMI and a microSD card slot (up to 64GB supported).
Overall, the Medion Akoya P2212T is a good 11.6 inch tablet but lack of pre-installed Microsoft Office 2013 might turn off poor college people.
