This is review of new Lenovo Yoga A12. If you despise netbooks because they run windows operating system, you should check out the new android laptop by Lenovo. It sports 12.2 inch HD display, quad core Atom X5 chipset and Halo Keyboard. It will go on sale for 299 dollars in USA and about 399 euro in Europe.
At 399 euro, it would be tough sell since you can get full fledge, cheap notebooks in Italy and other countries. It is larger than Lenovo Yoga Book that was launched last year and the new Halo keyboard does not support pen input and create pad so you won’t be able to use it do freehand drawing or take notes.
That being said, Lenovo Yoga A12 is versatile and entire chassis is made of aluminum, measuring 280x200x10 mm. Folks at notebookitalia say that the first impressions are extremely positive as it feels like a high end laptop. The design has 360-degree hinge and it has been simplified compared to watch-like hinge that is found in Lenovo Yoga Book.
You will find same four user configurations in Lenovo Yoga A12. Browse mode for surfing internet or reading documents; tablet mode to do freehand drawing and take notes; type mode to type using hardware keyboard and watch mode to view media content.
Lenovo Yoga A12 specifications include quad core Atom X5-Z8550cherry trail processor, 2GB RAM and 32GB of flash storage. You will be able to expand the internal storage using micro SD card slow and USB type-C ports. There are two speakers that Dolby certified and massive 10500mAh battery that can give you around 13-hours on single charge. The screen packs HD resolution which is a let down but that was expected at this price point. Operating system as said earlier is Android 6 Marshmallow and there is no word if it will be ever upgraded to Android 7 Nougat.
