Lenovo ThinkPad L560 and L460 are the new high-performance laptops by Chinese company. Both of these Lenovo laptops were updated with Intel Skylake-U processors and AMD Radeon R5 Exo Pro GPU with 2GB of DDR3 VRAM.
They are distinguished from other ThinkPad because they have a rugged chassis – military and environmental certified, advanced security and enterprise operations, with nearly 12.5 hours of battery life per charge. In practice they are suitable for business users very demanding with regard to productivity. However the Lenovo ThinkPad L560 is not compact by any terms, measuring 377 x 255 x 27.6 mm and weighing 2.3 kilograms. Lenovo ThinkPad L460 weighs less and has more compact dimensions – measuring 339 x 235 x 24.3 mm and weighing 1.9 Kg. The L560 packs DVD burner which explains the reason why it is so thick.
As mentioned above, Lenovo has updated these laptops with Intel Skylake-U processors – offering from Intel Celeron 3955U ultrabook processor to Core i7-6500U that is accompanied by 16GB (L560) or 32GB ( L460) of maximum RAM, 500GB to 1TB 5400rpm / 7200rpm hard disk storage. ThinkPad L560 has a display of 15.6 inches while the ThinkPad L460’s screen measures 14 inches. The L460 can be configured with AMD Radeon R5 Exo Pro GPU that comes with 2GB of DDR3 VRAM. The L560 is stuck with Intel Graphics HD 510/520 integrated graphics.
Port selection includes VGA, Mini Display Port, audio jack 3.5 mm, 4-in-1 smart card reader, Express card, modules 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth and Ethernet. Not to be missed is the usual fingerprint reader on the palm rest and Trusted Platform Module (TPM).
