Lenovo Ideapad 720s which is will be a replacement for the Ideapad 710 and 700 is on the verge of getting official. Our friends have leaked the Lenovo 720s specifications which include a full HD 14” display, Intel Core i5-7200u processor, 8GB DDR4 RAM and 256GB PCIe SSD.
And since it is a part of Lenovo’s premium range, you will also find backlit keyboard, 802.11ac wifi, Bluetooth 4.1 and upto 8 hours of battery life from 56Wh battery.
The screen has been given IPS treatment so the viewing angles will be pretty good. Lenovo has also equipped it with Nvidia GeForce 940MX which is a dedicated graphics card. While it is not as powerful as Nvidia pascal laptop GPU, it is still much more powerful the Intel’s integrated graphics card.
The i5 processor carried by Lenovo 720s is also kabylake which is the latest 7th generation Intel CPU. This brings numerous improvements over the outgoing 6th generation skylake Intel range. And that is why battery life is so good despite packing an i5 and Nvidia graphics card.
A lot of old laptops including Acer Aspire R 15 and HP Envy 15 have been using the Nvdia GeForce 940MX discrete GPU so that is the only old thing about the Lenovo 720s.
Business users will be happy to know that there is a fingerprint scanner onboard which will make logging in faster and more secure.
Ports selection includes 1x thunderbolt 3 port as well making it one of the few ultrabook laptops with thunderbolt 3 port. You also get 2x USB 3.0, HDMI and typical headset jacks. There is an SD card reader onboard too.
It shall be noted that the Lenovo is yet to announce this laptop to the public but the specifications mentioned earlier are more or less final.
