Kogan, an online Australian retailer has launched a laptop based on the new Chromium operating system. For those who don’t know, the Chrome OS is based on Gentoo Linux OS but what makes it different from rest of the Linux OSes out there is that the Chrome is designed to run only Cloud based services – nothing else.
The OS is said to boot under 5 seconds, thanks to 30GB SSD that greatly reduce the boot times. This notebook will sell for 350 Australian dollars. Specs – 11.6 inch LED display, 1366 x 768 pixel resolution, Bluetooth, 802.11n Wi-Fi, webcam, 1.3GHz Intel SU2300 processor. [via chromium laptops]
