HP introduced the Envy 14-3000eg to give Apple’s Macbook Pro some competition. This notebook is powered by Intel Core i5 2467M processor that runs at 1.6GHz under normal conditions and overclocks to 2.3GHz when needed. The CPU is accompanied by Intel HD 3000 graphics that do a decent job in handling full HD video. For storage, you get a 128GB solid state drive.
Folks at notebookjournal were able to get their hands on the Envy 14-3000eg and were fairly impressed with it. In their review, they praise its meticulously crafted chassis and extravagant design.
Despite the fact that it weighs 1.8 kilo grams, it has amazing build quality and we expect nothing less from HP laptop. However, its extremely glaring screen can be annoying to use outside or under bright sunlight. Other positives include great backlit keyboard and touchpad that is very accurate and pleasant to use. At 1400 Euros, we find it a great, powerful alternative to the Macbook Pro.
