A lot of companies have been churning out sub 10 inch tablets based on the Apple iPad Mini’s design. Here is another one called Pipo UT8, which looks just like an iPad and runs Android operating system. However, unlike Mini, it adds phone capabilities as well.
The Pipo UT8 features a 7.85 inch display and costs about 165 dollars / 130 Euros. Pipo UT8 specs include 1024×768 pixel capacitive 7.85” display, 2 megapixel front, 5 megapixel back camera, Rockchip RK3188 quad core 1.8 GHz processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB flash storage, USB port, and mini HDMI.
Communication radios include 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and 3G radios that supports WCDMA / HSPA (2100/900 MHz) and GSM / GPRS / EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) frequencies.
The Pipo UT8 measures 200 x 137 x 8.6 mm and weighs 370 grams. This includes a beefy 4700 mAh battery that should provide at least 7-8 hours of battery life under normal use.
